Empyrean is a true text family, the only one that I have ever designed. I wanted to add a font to the Jukebox library that could be used for setting long passage of type or books. Empyrean is the result of that effort. It is partially based on 17th century type samples of the "Romain Du Roy"(King's Roman) designed by Louis Simonneau. Empyrean is elegant and clean and makes an excellent companion to the display faces that comprise most of the Jukebox library.
Jukebox fonts are available in OpenType format and downloadable packages contain both .otf and .ttf versions of the font. They are compatible on both Mac and Windows. All fonts contain basic OpenType features as well as support for Latin-based and most Eastern European languages.
